Cy Young,1890-1911, set this with 511 wins. Walter Johnson is next with 417. Warren Spahn holds the record for most wins by a pitcher whose entire career was in the post-1920 live-ball era with 363.

Most Wins in a Season (59)

Charles Radbourn pitched in 67% of the games in 1884 and had a record of 59 wins, a practically unbreakable record.

Most Career Complete Games (749)

Cy Young set this with 749 over his 1890-1911 career. Warren Spahn, 1942-1965, set the record for most career complete games by a pitcher whose entire career was in the post-1920 live-ball era with 382.

Mustache-sporting legend Will White set this in 1879, finishing every single game he started.

Most Consecutive Complete Games in a Season Since 1900 (39)

Jack Taylor set this record with 39 games in 1904.

Most Consecutive Games Without Being Relieved (202)

Jack Taylor set this record as well, with 202 games between 1901 and 1906.

Most Career Shutouts (110)

The legendary Walter Johnson set this with 110 over his 1907-1927 career. Warren Spahn, 1942-1965, set the record for most career shutouts by a live-ball era pitcher with 63. Most career shutouts by an active player belong to Clayton Kershaw, who scored 15 since his 2008 debut.

Most Shutouts in a Season (16)

George Bradley set this with 16 in 1876, then Grover Cleveland Alexander set the same record in 1916. Bob Gibson set the record for most shutouts in a season by a live-ball era pitcher, with 13 in 1968.

Johnny Vander Meer set this with two in 1938.

Nolan Ryan set this with seven no-hitters over his 1966–1993 career.

Nolan Ryan set this with 5714 strikeouts over his 27-year career, a record that he’s definitely going to keep.

Most Career Bases on Balls (2795)

Another record by Nolan Ryan, this was set with 2795. Steve Carlton followed with 1833 bases on balls over his 1965-1988 career.

Most Career Saves (652)

This record belongs to Mariano Rivera,1995-2013. Trevor Hoffman followed him with 601 saves between 1993 and 2010.

Most Innings Pitched in a Season (680)

All the way back in 1879, Will White set a record that still stands today with 680 innings. Even more impressive is that White started 75 of the 80 games his team played that year.

Most Career Wild Pitches Thrown (343)

Tony Mullane set this record over his 1881-1894 career. Nolan Ryan followed with 277 wild pitches thrown between 1966 and 1993.

Ichiro Suzuki holds this record as well, with 10 consecutive seasons between 2001 and 2010. Willie Keeler, 1892-1910, follows him with eight.

Most Career Triples (309)

Sam Crawford set this record over his 1899-1916 career. Stan Musial, 1941-1963, holds the record for most career triples by a live-ball era hitter, with 177.

Most Triples in a Season (36)

Chief Wilson set this record in 1912.

Most Home Runs in a Game (4)

Not one but 18 different players set this record equally between 1894 and 2017.

Most Grand Slams in a Single Inning (2)

Fernando Tatís set this record in 1999. While someone could theoretically tie his record, the odds of someone breaking it are almost nonexistent.

Highest Career Batting Average (.367)

Ty Cobb set this record in 1928.

Highest Single-Season Batting Average (.440)

Hugh Duffy set this record in 1894 with .440.

Most RBI in a Season (191)

Hack Wilson set this record in 1930. Lou Gehrig followed him in 1931.

Ted Williams set this record over his 1939-1960 career.

MVP Maury Wills set this record in 1962.
