The 2013 Rawlings Machine was created with one goal in mind "to increase player swing speed with exceptional balance and feel". Through Precision Optimized Performance, the added weight is isolated to a smaller region on the barrel creating a lower swing weight, as well as improved swing velocity and balance. The maximum rebound zone of the bat is surrounded by thin walls that create additional flex and a larger, more reactive sweet spot.
The Machine is also built from X-Treme Performance Composite, giving this bat optimum barrel trampoline and excellent durability. Ph.D Technology is used inside the handle to dampen vibration and improve the overall feel of the bat.
